Code of Conduct

Behavioral standards and community guidelines for attendees.

FurDU strives to maintain an environment that is safe and enjoyable for all guests. We encourage all attendees to kindly consider how your actions may negatively impact others (including hotel staff and the public) or reflect poorly upon the convention or furry community.

It is a requirement of attendance that you behave in accordance with these guidelines. We reserve the right to determine whether any alleged behaviour constitutes a breach of this Code at our discretion.

Consent is Mandatory

Remember:

  • Costume is NOT consent!
  • “No” means No.
  • “Stop” means Stop.
  • “Go away” means Go Away.

Harassment does not require intent. If someone reasonably feels harassed, the behaviour must cease immediately.

Unacceptable Behaviour

Common sense applies here. Examples of behaviour that breaches our Code of Conduct include (but are not limited to):

If FurDU becomes aware of illegal activity, hotel staff and police will be notified.

Bullying & Harassment

All attendees have the right to enjoy the convention without harassment. If you feel you are being bullied or harassed:

  1. Advise FurDU staff immediately.
  2. It will be referred to operations personnel or authorities as appropriate.

Note: Making false or misleading allegations is considered harassment in itself.

Harassment of Staff

Furry Down Under is a volunteer-led organisation with a deep care for seeing our community thrive. As such, we have a zero tolerance policy for abuse of staff, volunteers, and contractors.

Abusive behaviour includes, but is not limited to:

Behaviour may be considered abusive based on its impact, regardless of intent.

Attendees must communicate respectfully and comply with reasonable instructions from authorised members of our team. Furry Down Under may take immediate action in response to abusive behaviour, including revocation of event badges or removal of individuals from the event and venue.

Badge Revocation

Where a badge/registration is revoked due to abusive conduct, it will be immediately invalidated and no refunds, partial refunds, or credits will be issued under any circumstances.

Decisions made by authorised members of the Furry Down Under team under this Code of Conduct are final.

  1. Medical distress / Emergencies
  2. Members of the public
